Myself in detail
My name is Christopher Billich, I am a digital strategy consultant and interim manager, helping clients understand and adapt to the opportunities and challenges driven by exponential technological change, enabling them to deliver better products, services and business processes.
I grew up in Germany’s Rhineland, where I happily lived the first three decades of my life — at least when I wasn’t away hiking in the Himalayas or driving a beat-up VW through remote parts of Brazil.
After graduating with a degree in Psychology from the University of Cologne, I spent almost a decade working at the intersection of digital media and telecommunications in my home country.
In 2005, I stored my former life in my grandmother’s attic and moved to Japan to spend some time inside the giant pinball machine also known as Tokyo.
“Some time” turned into almost five hugely enriching years in one of the most interesting cities on this planet, most of which I spent at consultancy Infinita, advising companies across the globe on mobile strategy. Clients included IBM, Orange, MIH Internet Group, Adobe and Qualcomm.
Relocating to Germany in 2010, I first ran Deutsche Telekom’s mobile advertising business internationally, before moving to the company’s Digital Media business unit, where I worked on strategy and transformation projects for Germany’s largest portal T-Online, digital media sales agency InteractiveMedia and the Tolino e-publishing business. I left the company in 2014 to set up my own business.
As a combined result of both personal passion and professional necessity, I have visited 45 countries and used more dodgy airlines than I care to remember. I speak four languages fluently enough to get me into trouble rather than keep me out of it, I’m a distinguished practitioner of the culinary arts, and I hold an unofficial black belt in taming Chihuahuas.
I became an advisor to WebHawks IT because I truly believe in the vision and mission of the company: to make Bangladesh a leading provider of global IT TeamSourcing services, positively impacting the lives of hundreds of thousands of Bangladeshis at a grassroots level in the process.
